Once again, our socials are flooded with top songs, top artists, and musical alter egos, thanks to Spotify Wrapped.

There’s nothing like the excitement you’ll feel when rediscovering the musical journey that walked with you through the year. In this year’s edition of Wrapped, new and interactive features and data stories have come into play.

DEDICATED WRAPPED FEED WITH REFRESHED DATA STORIES

The music-streaming giant is back with personalised reviews of the listening habits across 574 million fans worldwide and puts a spotlight on the most celebrated musicians, tracks, albums, and podcasts.

Now rounded up in a single feed that sits on your Spotify Home screen on mobile, Spotify has made it easy for you to access the top songs and artists in 2023, artist merchandise, stream your data stories, and tune in with your personal DJ in one place.

First, we have Me in 2023, an interactive feature in your Wrapped highlights that keeps it real. You can flip a card that reveals a listening character that best defines your taste in music and habits on Spotify. From a Vampire to a Hypnotist, Spotify delves deep into your listening activities and churns out the right kind of personality that resonates with you. Next, we’re heading to Sound Town – depending on your “listening and artist affinity”, you will be matched to a city where you’ll find a cluster of listeners with similar tastes. 


SOMEONE’S ON THE OTHER LINE

Congratulations! You just spent thousands of minutes listening to your favorite artists. That means a video message by one of them may pop up within your personalised Wrapped, which seems like a reward for your achievements.

With Taylor Swift being crowned the Global Top Artist (no surprises there), fans were treated with a 16-second clip of her expressing her gratitude to dedicated listeners. “This is a special message from me to you, basically a thank you note. Honestly, it looks like you listened to a lot of my music this year. It doesn’t matter which era you were listening to, I’m very, very grateful to be on your Spotify Wrapped,” Taylor Swift said in her Wrapped video.

If you’re looking to hear from other artists such as NewJeans, SZA, NIKI, and Jung Kook, you can visit your Wrapped feed in the Spotify mobile app for iOS and Android.


RINGING IN THE YEAR WITH DJ AND BLEND

This year, Spotify has added their fan-favourite features, DJ and Blend, into the mix.

Debuted in February 2023, DJ is a personalised AI guide that is well-acquainted with your music tastes such that it can pick the right tracks to play. For this year’s Wrapped, the AI DJ will guide you through your roundup with commentaries about your top streamed artists, songs, and genres during the first week of its launch.

But if you’re looking to spice things up, you can call up your friends to create a Blend with your most streamed songs for the year and compile them in a shared playlist.
