The world-renowned State Ballet of Georgia is set to return to Singapore later this year with a staging of the beloved holiday classic The Nutcracker, bringing a magical start to the festive season at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands. The production will run from 26 to 29 November, following the company’s sold-out Singapore season of Swan Lake in 2025.

The production features a touring company of 60 dancers and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading classical ballet companies. Audiences can expect an enchanting interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s cherished score, blending refined classical technique, traditional staging, and visually captivating ensemble scenes designed to delight viewers of all ages.
The story follows young Clara on Christmas Eve as she receives a nutcracker doll and enters a dreamlike world where toys come to life. Along the way, she witnesses the Nutcracker Prince battle the Mouse King before being guided through a sparkling winter kingdom. Together with the transformed prince, Clara travels to the Kingdom of Sweets, where a series of celebratory dances lead up to the appearance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Iconic moments such as the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Waltz of the Flowers promise a visually rich and magical theatrical experience.
Based at the Opera and Ballet State Theatre in Tbilisi, the State Ballet of Georgia has earned international recognition under Artistic Director Nina Ananiashvili, a celebrated former prima ballerina known for her work with the Bolshoi Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. Reflecting on the company’s return to Singapore, Ananiashvili shared that bringing Swan Lake to the country had been unforgettable and that the company looks forward to presenting its enchanting production of The Nutcracker to audiences once again.
