Stef Aranas is back "on the grind" again with her fierce single 'Fantasy' — channeling the letdowns of having an unrequited crush.
Having a crush is usually a dreamy experience that surrounds you in a romantic haze of feelings and what-ifs centred around the person that draws your attention in a crowded room — making your heart beat just a tad bit faster every time. However, the mirage is something that can easily be broken when reality sets in. Stef perfectly captures both perspectives of having a crush — covering both the highs and the lows.

Stef talks about how hopeless falling in love with someone can be, especially when the feelings are unreciprocated. Situations where the tension is palpable but the relationship is unclear make you think, "What are we?".
Stef shares her perspective that contributed to the idea behind the track as she shares, "During my Tokyo trip last year, I met a very sweet and affectionate boy. We met through another friend, who then shipped us because of how we interacted. A few weeks after I left Tokyo, he was in a relationship with someone else. I then realized that maybe all of his sweetness wasn’t out of romantic interest.”
Stef’s individuality always shines bright on her songs as most of them have a background built on her everyday, personal experiences. This unique touch she incorporates into her music stood out heavily in her debut album Miss Worldwide released in 2024.
Stef expresses how she translates the emotions she feels in her experiences into a sonic soundscape saying, "Lyrically, I wrote this song at the height of my emotions so it was a very fast process". She also adds on more about the seductive instrumentals with fierce undertones to them as she shares that she's inspired by the discography of artists like kwn, Ariana Grande and Kehlani.
Stef Aranas continues to deliver hit after hit as she stays in touch with her emotions — channelling her rage, happiness and sass to give fans the perfect tracks that they resonate with and rock out to.
