One of Singapore's most forward-thinking arts and music collectives, Strange Weather, have unveiled the next step in their artistic evolution. The innovative crew has just launched their very own record label called Strange Weather Dunia with aim of showcasing experimental and spiritual productions coming out of the region.
"Strange Weather Dunia emerges as a sonic and visual exploration of memory, mysticism and post-postmodern myth. Fractalizing out of Southeast Asia, the label recodes lost residues into contemporary resonances," Strange Weather explains in a press statement.

"In the space where the ephemeral tends to the eternal, we celebrate all sorts of poetic sense-making of spirit, from lands that through the course of history have been left questioning the sound of their own stories."
Their inaugral release comes from acclaimed Indonesian artist Wahono - who wrote, performed and produced Hawa Hina Dina. Described as a "visceral meditation on decay and renewal in play with impressions of the metaphysical" - the seven-track albums "draws upon evocative fragments of poetry ruminating on cycles of growth and collapse."
The avant garde LP features cover art illustrated by Iris (aka glumgoyle), alongside words and conceptual contributions by RAGA (Xue and Pallavi). Hawa Hina Dina was mixed and mastered at Studio Oposisi in Jakarta. The digital release is now available on Bandcamp.
