Tanya Markova talk new single 'Iglap,' signing with Tower of Doom: "It's not a dark tower, and we are not doomed"

Filipino rock act Tanya Markova have finally unveiled what twelve months cooped up in the Tower of Doom studio has led to: a spunky new single.

The 'Picture Picture' act dropped 'Iglap' Thursday (08/02), their first release since signing with Tower of Doom Music last year. 'Iglap' comes with an adorable animated lyric video featuring five yellow monsters singing along to the upbeat track as they follow a little boy through the woods.

"Our current single 'Iglap' is about someone who is mending a broken heart and trying to be okay even if he or she was hurt by someone who played with his or her feelings," vocalist Norma Love reveals to Bandwagon. "We are trying to convey the feelings of a person who trusted someone, but was given false hope. Once in my life, I had that experience, and some of my bandmates do, too (laughs)."

"Tower of Doom is great, and we felt at home and at ease," Norma Love tells Bandwagon about signing with Tower of Doom. Prior to the release of 'Iglap,' they'd released a live studio performance of their single 'High End' on Tower Sessions. "It made us explore our creative juices and made our bonding stronger."

"Tower of Doom feels like family, and made us feel welcome right away. I really loved the atmosphere. It's not a dark tower, and we are not doomed. Its the exact opposite to be honest," the 'Linda Blair' singer adds. "When it comes to the recording process, TOD let us be 'us'. They are professional, yet carefree. We love Sir Eric, Sir Carlo, and the rest of the crew. They inspire us, and we felt they really care about what we do and what we are as a band."
