A new cross-continental romance is on the horizon. Filming for Beyond The Ocean officially began in March—and it’s already shaping up to be a landmark moment for both Asian and Latin American entertainment.
Led by SILVY and Natália Toledo, the upcoming web series bridges Brazil and Thailand through a GL (Girls’ Love) narrative that blends romance, political tension, and female-led storytelling.
Produced by MGV Filmes, Beyond The Ocean is positioning itself as a first-of-its-kind international project—one that directly connects Brazil’s growing audiovisual scene with Asia’s booming Y-series industry.

Thailand, in particular, has become a global hub for GL and BL content, making this collaboration a strategic move to reach wider audiences and tap into an already engaged fanbase.
Thai multi-hyphenate SILVY stars as Carisa, a film celebrity navigating political persecution and a public image crisis. Known for her work in both music and screen, the project marks her expansion into the Latin American market—and her first major lead in an international production.
Opposite SILVY, Natália Toledo plays Laura Greco, a lawyer specialising in women’s rights who relocates to Thailand after a life-changing case.

The pairing of the two leads underscores the series’ multicultural core, weaving together perspectives from different regions while centring on a shared story of resilience and reinvention. While Beyond The Ocean follows a love story between two women, it also dives into deeper themes—power struggles, public redemption, and female autonomy across cultural boundaries.
The series is adapted from Tiziane Machado’s book of the same name, with teaser direction by Lilia Moema and an original soundtrack by Patrícia Barreto. It will run for eight episodes as part of a new wave of productions spotlighting women-led narratives.
