The Itchyworms are bringing their infectious pop-rock sound to Nagoya for the very first time. As part of their Akin Ka Na Lang tour, the award-winning Filipino band will perform at Live House Circus on 5 October.

The show marks the group’s debut in the fourth most populous city in Japan, following earlier stops in Tokyo and Saitama this year. The Itchyworms have also made waves with appearances at Tokyo Beyond Festival (2022) and Kansai Music Festival (2023).

“This will be our first time to travel to Nagoya (as tourists, and as performers),” shares vocalist and guitarist Jugs Jugueta. “We heard that there is a huge Filipino community in Nagoya. We are so excited to play for them and to meet them all! We love Japan so much.”

Drummer and co-lead vocalist Jazz Nicolas adds, “We’ve never been to Nagoya before so it’ll be a new experience for us. It’s always great to play for both Filipino and local audiences in Japan.”

Fans can expect surprises at the Nagoya show, with the band promising to “take them back to the Philippines, if only for a few hours.”

Joining the tour is their newest member Michael Vargas, who will bring fresh energy to the group with his skills on guitar, keyboards, and violin.

The Nagoya stop follows a string of international dates this year, including Tokyo, the UK, and Bali. Beyond the music, the band says touring is about the little joys too. “Food is a huge part of the "new" experience,” Jugueta laughs. “The challenging part is fitting all the pasalubongs in your suitcase without going over baggage!”
