The MADD Group has officially launched MADD Entertainment and IDOLLAB, opening a new chapter for the Singapore-grown performing arts company as it expands beyond education into artiste development, content creation, and original music. The move also marks the debut of the group’s newly expanded 6,000-square-foot headquarters at GR.ID, bringing together dance studios, vocal studios, recording facilities, content creation spaces, and production capabilities under one roof.
Best known for nurturing young performers through MADDspace, The MADD Group is now extending that journey by creating a more direct pathway from arts education into the professional entertainment space. Through its expanded creative ecosystem, the company aims to support young artistes not only in training, but also in producing original music, creating content, performing on larger stages, and building long-term careers across Singapore and the wider region.
According to founder and CEO John Khoo, the goal is to address the gap between classroom training and the realities of the entertainment industry. He described MADD Entertainment as the next step for young talent looking to keep growing beyond the classroom while creating work that can reach audiences across Singapore and Asia.
The new setup is built around four interconnected brands: MADDspace, focused on performing arts education in music, dance, drama, and musical theatre; The DSA Academy, which prepares students for Direct School Admission through the arts; IDOLLAB, a professional creative hub for recording, music production, photography, videography, and digital content; and MADD Entertainment, which will focus on discovering, developing, and creating opportunities for the next generation of artistes in Singapore and the region.
The launch also introduced the first wave of original music projects under MADD Entertainment. Among them is 'Before Tomorrow,' a heartfelt pop ballad performed by 13-year-old Yu Tong, which reflects on cherishing life’s fleeting moments before they become memories. Also unveiled was 'All I Want Is You,' a contemporary R&B single performed by 17-year-old Harshan Rajan, underscoring the company’s commitment to helping young Singaporean artistes tell original stories through music.

Beyond these first releases, the company also announced auditions for its first regional Asia-pop girl group. The project will bring together young singers and performers from markets including Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, and China, with selected members set to go through an integrated development programme spanning vocal training, dance, performance, media, content creation, and music production before debuting as a regional act.
Khoo shares more as he says, "We've always believed that great music brings people together across cultures and borders, our vision is to bring together exceptional young talent from different parts of Asia and develop them as one group. We want every member to celebrate their own identity while learning from one another, creating something that truly represents the next generation of Asia-pop. We hope Singapore can become the place where this journey begins—a creative home where young artistes from across Asia come together to train, create and launch their careers".
The official opening ceremony for the new space was officiated by Deke Sharon, the internationally renowned vocal producer, arranger, and educator widely recognised as the Father of Contemporary A Cappella. Known for his work on the Pitch Perfect film franchise, Sharon’s presence at the launch reflects The MADD Group’s intention to expose young performers in Singapore to internationally respected figures and industry expertise as part of their development.
