Last weekend, Kiss of Life made their highly anticipated debut in Singapore for House of Kpop's raucous fansign event. Held at Bugis+ atrium on 2 June, the showcase drew a massive crowd who thronged several levels of the mall to catch the surging starlets holding court during a Q&A session, as well as a live performance of hit singles such as 'Nothing' and 'Midas Touch'.
But amidst the hubbub, one particular interaction stole the show during the quartet’s autograph session - when one devoted attendee handed Natty a Ngee Ann Polytechnic shirt! The moment has since become a minor sensation, sparking particular glee among Singaporean fans, and wholehearted pride from NP KISSYs everywhere. We tracked down the girl who gave KIOF her school attire, to talk about the viral moment, and her fandom.

Hi Yu Ting! So, the clip of you handing Kiss of Life a Ngee Ann Poly shirt went viral over the weekend. How surprised were you that this blew up?
I was actually incredibly shocked that it went viral as it has actually been done before in previous fansigns in Singapore - like the ATEEZ fansign where one member wore a Temasek Poly graduation gown, and another at STAYC's fansign where another fan gave a shirt meant for Temasek Poly athletes. So honestly it is quite a norm to give idols our school apparel.
What sort of attention have you gotten from this?
It’s been surprisingly overwhelmingly positive as many friends, schoolmates as well as alumni have expressed that they felt school pride in the moment. #NPpride Of course there are some negative or inappropriate comments that I have tried my best to delete and report under my post.
What was the experience like at the fan signing event? It looked insane!
The fansign was honestly a blast. Besides a few rude security guards, it was way better than I imagined. I was honestly kind of expecting less due to the fansign being held in a public area such as Bugis+, and the last time a fansign was held in public, fans who did not win the fansign were screaming throughout. My favourite parts were when it was my turn to interact with the members, and the lucky draw where they picked me to have a signed polaroid!
Tell us a bit about your KIOF fandom - how did it develop?
My love for KIOF started almost a decade ago, when I was nine years old and Natty was between 12-13 at the time. I first became a fan of Natty when in a survival show called Sixteen, and have followed her throughout - from when she was in Idol School, to her solo career, and finally her debut with KIOF!

Loudest cheering moment of the day. Natty got a big shock when she takes up this t-shirt. To those who don't know, Ngee Ann Polytechnic is a famous post-secondary education institution in SG. Congrats Ngee Ann KISSYs lol#KISSOFLIFE #KIOF… pic.twitter.com/sE4UqZksY9
What’s your favourite KIOF song?
I honestly love all of their songs, but my favourite from them is their B-side from their debut album Kiss Of Life titled 'Bye My Neverland'.
