The show is set to be a nostalgic walk down memory lane reflecting on the hits that made each of them the "Man in the arena" while celebrating new beginnings with their upcoming album The User’s Guide To Being Human that's slated for release before they hit Manila and Singapore as part of the tour.
The record rides the wave of 2024's Satellites that channelled vocalist Danny O’Donoghue's grief upon the loss of beloved band member Mark Sheehan in 2023. The title of the upcoming album is exactly what the record is about, the experiences, emotions and actions that contribute to the idea of being a human. It zeroes in on the depth of reality and the myriad of capabilities that we as a human race have evolved to have.
Danny O’Donoghue explains more about the album and the inspiration behind each evocative lyric as he shares, "Most people will never fully understand the relationship I have with words and music. It's how I process everything. I love music, I love words, and I love being Irish. All my life I poured indescribable emotions into song. When I was bullied in school, I never fought back. I'd wait until I got home and I'd try and sing as high and as powerfully as I could, letting the pain feel every note. When my father died, that grief became fuel for the best songs I could write.”
With such an impactful and emotive album on the horizon and some of this generation's most iconic hits under their belt, The Script's Man In The Arena tour shows in Manila and Singapore are not only going to be a chance to catch the glory of the band live but the way to bask in the immersive sonic textures and relatable themes of their music as the band establishes a connection with each fan in the stadium.
