The Year of Festivals: Future Music Festival Asia 2014

ESTIMATED

2014 is looking like quite the year for festivals, for Singapore and around the region. With Laneway Festival Singapore leading the charge in January, we see the likes of Hostess Club Weekender who will be staging their mega lineup in Singapore, Manila and other cities, the annual Mosaic Festival in March bringing in an eclectic array of musicians, the Singapore Jazz Festival in late February that features the likes of India Arie, Jamie Cullum, Allen Stone and many more.

Believe it or not, it's all happening in Singapore! But if you're looking to catch a festival somewhere outside the city-state, let us direct you to Kuala Lumpur. Future Music Festival Asia 2014 is set to be one of the biggest festivals happening in Southeast Asia on March 13-15 at Mines Wonderland, a theme park built around a mining lake. Talk about nice festival venues! We had the privilege to attend last year's bash and boy, did we have loads of fun.

Day 1 | Day 2

BANDWAGON TV

"We started about twenty years ago...It sort of started as a festival that had David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Steve Angelo - all of them under one bill. It was quite amazing to have all those people on the stage. Then, we had 3500 tickets sold, it went to 7500, and then it went up to 15 000 to 25 000, 35 000, 50 000 and now, 65 000." Brett Robinson, Founder

On top of the that is the mad, mad lineup they have in store. On the live act roster are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tinie Tempah, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Methodman from Wu-Tang Clan and more. Progressive-house music producer and performer Deadmau5 will also be headlining this three-day festival along with other DJ greats such as Eric Prydz, ATB, and Paul van Dyk to name a few. Living up to it's tab as the 'Biggest and Wildest Party of 2014'? Definitely.
