If our pandemic-ridden lives have been defined by anything, it's TikTok – and the numbers show it. 

In an announcement made earlier this week, the short video platform announced that it has surpassed 1 billion active monthly users worldwide. 

"More than 1 billion people around the world now come to TikTok every month to be entertained as they learn, laugh, or discover something new. We're honoured to be a home for our immensely diverse community of families, small businesses, and creators who transform into our favourite stars," says TikTok in an official statement
