TOMORROW X TOGETHER go grunge in their highly-anticipated comeback with minisode 2: Thursday’s Child

Manifesting a sublime mesh of hardcore rock, hip-hop, and R&B, the band’s latest mini-album aims to top everything that fans have previously seen.

“Thursday is a day of the mid-week yet feels like a weekend, right?” leader Soobin remarks during their press conference, “In the same way, we used this analogy to communicate a boy’s rocky evolution between adolescence and maturity.”

Described as a Gen Z break-up song, minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’s titular track, ‘Good Boy Gone Bad’ is a dramatic and angst-filled song that depicts the transformation of an innocent boy after a failed first love.

Participating once again in composing the title track's rap, all-rounder Yeonjun explains some lyrical easter eggs - “If you closely observe my rap lyrics this time, you’d notice I referenced ‘broken wings’, which was something I first wrote about in ‘LO$ER=LO♡ER’.”

On the other hand, ‘Trust Fund Baby’ poses a different charm from its title track with a slower tempo, member Beomgyu expresses how the second track was made to capture the band’s cynicism over the materialism that drives a successful modern-day romance.

Among all the members, singer Taehyun also added that he felt the songwriting came easily as he resonated well with the song’s themes, further elaborating that he had taken inspiration from gaming for the production of the song. “I was prompted to write from the perspective of a player who didn’t have as many power-ups or weapons as others, and the unfair disadvantage that spans in the virtual world to the real world.” he says.

Their fourth mini-album marks the first time that they worked in units for the third and fourth track of the EP, ‘Lonely Boy’ and ‘Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go’. Maknae Huening Kai conveyed his excitement for the unit songs as they’d been partnered up according to their compatibility and individual strengths.

This release has also especially been handpicked by Spotify to be packaged as an Enhanced Album, allowing an exclusive glimpse into the HYBE boy group members’ respective inspirations and behind-the-scenes anecdotes for some of the songs from the album.

The ‘Anti-Romantic’ superstars are the fifth K-pop group to release a coveted Enhanced Album under the leading music streaming platform.
