The music and lyrics were written by Jeff Bowen with the inspirations for the musical coming from the book that was authored by Hunter Bell. [title of show] follows two struggling writers racing to meet a three-week submission deadline for a musical theatre festival.

With no idea where to begin, the pair decide to create a musical about the very process of writing one. Joined by their friends Susan, Heidi, and their accompanist Larry, they embark on an earnest, comedic, and self-referential journey that explores creativity, collaboration, and the courage required to pursue original ideas.

Sing’theatre’s Artistic & Executive Director Nathalie Ribette shares, “This production is a heartfelt tribute to the creative process. Its honesty, humour, and vulnerability reflect the realities faced by artists everywhere. We are excited to bring this inspiring musical to Singaporean audiences.” Director Eric Larrea adds, “At its core, [title of show] is about friendship, perseverance, and believing in your work even when doubt creeps in. It is a story that resonates deeply with performers and audiences alike.”

The Singapore production features an accomplished local cast, including Andrew Marko, Daisy Anne, Rino Junior John, and Vanessa Kee, with Aqil Fitri and Beatrice Pung as understudies. The creative team includes musical director Joanne Ho, choreographer Gaby Rae, set designer Petrina Tan, lighting designer Reuben Ong, and sound designer Lim Chengyi.

With its sharp wit, heartfelt storytelling, and celebration of creative resilience, [title of show] promises to deliver a refreshing theatrical experience for both longtime musical fans and newcomers alike.
