The prestigious Singapore Drum Fest is reaching to the end of their fifth season with an exciting Ultimate Drummers Weekend coming up this August!

Just two months back, organizers Fest Events International was calling for qualified amateur drummers to participate in their Drum Off Singapore 2017, a drum battle competition.

During the Ultimate Drummers Weekend that will be happening on 5 and 6 August, the finalists of Drum Off Singapore 2017 from the various categories – Junior, Intermediate, Girls and Open categories – will be battling against each other to clinch the championship.

This is the first year for the Girls category and with the scarce number of female drummers in Singapore, this one holds plenty of promise for discovery.

On top of the drum off battle, the expert judges of this competition will also show off their skills on the same stage as the contestants.

The judges include the first choice drummer for Stevie Wonder and Christina Aguilera, Stanley Randolph, famed female drummer Meytal Cohen, the drummer for Jan Delay and Disko no.1, Jost Nickel, Drum Off Grand Champion USA 2012 Juan “Carlito” Mendoza, the drummer for Italian metalcore outfit Destrage Federico, Paulovich, the drummer for Singapore’s post-hardcore band VILLES Benjamin Lim and winner of Drum Off Singapore 2016 Anson Koh.

And as always attendees can expect top notch performances from the best drummers in the world and highly-beneficial small group masterclasses from the star-studded line up.

This looks set to be an exhilarating weekend charged with heart-pounding beats dropping at the Garnet Room of Singapore Expo, Max Atria. Tickets can be purchased here and it’s going at $120 for the 2-day access to 10 hours’ worth of program per day.
