Instagram-worthy interiors, cozy spaces for hanging out, and even a mini stage for live performances from artists from Republic Records, Island Records Philippines, and Def Jam Recordings Philippines—music fans are sure in for a treat at the UMusic Pop Up store.
A nod to record stores from the 90s to the early 2000s, the shop aims to provide many ways that music lovers can enjoy music, including catching some of your favourite artists in the store. In fact, Danish artist Maximillian (of 'Beautiful Scars' fame) has already dropped by on 22 July, the official day the UMusic Pop-Up store opened.
The store also hosted the artist meet-and-greet for the Nomad Music Festival, Island Records Philippines' 2nd anniversary celebration. This is only the beginning, though, as the UMusic Pop Up store promises to hold more artist visits, listening sessions, and the like.
Of course, no music store is without merchandise, and the UMusic Pop Up store boasts of an "extremely curated selection of merchandise from the Universal Music Group’s local and international artists." This would include album releases (such as BTS' Proof album, perhaps?), apparel, and other accessories. Those who enjoy frequenting gigs may even see some familiar faces as some of the staff working in the store are roadies who used to work with artists in music events.
The UMusic Pop Up is located on the 2nd Floor of the Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Taguig until December 2022.
