To celebrate International Women's Day, the UN Women Safe Cities Metro Manila Programme are organizing a concert and inter-school battle of the bands entitled,  “Breaking the Silence: Towards a Safe and Violence-Free Public Spaces for Women and Girls.”

The competition aims to convey the message that sexual harassment is an everyday battle for women and girls. Today's youth, young men, and women alike, are at the forefront of the fight to end to sexual harassment and sexual violence. Last December, local musicians came together to push for Safe Spaces in the music community. 

In order to qualify, all the band's members should be currently enrolled in university and have at least one female member. The competition will be held on March 22, 2018. Applications for bands will be accepted until February 23, 2018. Interested bands may apply here.
