Dynamic sibling duo Wasia Project are back once again with a cathartic exploration of craving comfort as they unveil their single 'Bleeding Gold'. The single isn't just a new music release but it symbolises the beginning of a new exciting era as it's set to be featured on the tracklist of their upcoming debut album Nocturne, hitting the charts on 18 September.

The alternative pop arrangement of the track comes through in the glittering synths that float in the background as Olivia Hardy's airy vocals take centre stage. They cut through the euphoric guitar chords and thumping drumbeats, giving the track its layered and contrasting texture that captures the urgency in craving the delicate embrace of familiarity.
Youth is an experience that flies by so fast that every moment and relationship feels almost transitional, going through the motions while trying to figure out the path that lies ahead. 'Bleeding Gold' is a collage of these moments, finding solace in the reflection of the memories that stick with you throughout the chaos of figuring it all out.
Wasia Project perfectly describe the track and the inspiration behind it, sharing, "'Bleeding Gold' is a song about nostalgia, returning to your roots, and understanding that though you can't go back to your younger self, your past will always be part of you and travel with you as you go forth."
Similar to the varying pieces of adolescence that this song depicts, the track was constructed from fragments of a song that the duo had created long before. Picking out chords and verses that fit, they created a masterpiece that feels like a core memory that you still think about now and then. 'Bleeding Gold' joins the pair's earlier single '2515' on the 12-song tracklist for their upcoming debut record Nocturne.
With each year that passes, life just gets faster. Getting wrapped up in the intensity of everyday responsibilities like bills, work, and somehow fitting in the time to maintain relationships has become overbearing. Somewhere along the way, post-COVID, the world collectively missed the point of life.
As we grew up, our grip on the important things like having time to enjoy ourselves, savouring our favourite foods, and just having a laugh with our friends slipped slowly with each stage of life we cleared. Nocturne captures the reluctant acceptance and reflection behind coming-of-age through a heavier and darker lens as we mourn a version of ourselves that lived a much simpler life.
The album expands the duo's sonic artistry as they step into more complex and gritty themes, shedding the lightness of their previous releases. They blend classical music elements with modern piano pop and club-like beats to create an immersive sonic atmosphere that allows the listener to feel the emotion of each song.
With Bleeding Gold, Wasia Project offers a poignant glimpse into the emotional world of Nocturne, blending nostalgia, vulnerability, and sonic experimentation into a deeply resonant listening experience. As the duo embraces darker and more introspective themes for their debut album, the track stands as a heartfelt reflection on growing up, holding onto the past, and finding beauty in the memories that continue to shape who we become.
