Red Velvet's Wendy to perform at 'SM Classics Live in Singapore 2026' as special guest performer

A new large-scale musical experience is set to arrive in Singapore this July as SM Classics Live in Singapore 2026 brings together the worlds of K-pop and classical music in a live concert format. Taking place on 10 July at 8 PM at the Esplanade Theatre, the production will transform some of the genre’s most iconic hits into sweeping orchestral arrangements performed by a full symphony orchestra.

As the world’s first large-scale K-pop orchestra concert, it draws inspiration from composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Claude Debussy, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. The show reimagines modern K-pop through orchestral grandeur, creating a fusion that blends classical traditions with the emotional intensity and global appeal of K-pop.

Audiences can look forward to orchestral renditions of songs by some of the most influential K-pop acts of the past three decades, including BoA, TVXQ, Girls' Generation, Red Velvet, NCT, and aespa.

Adding to the excitement, Wendy of Red Velvet will appear as the special guest performer for the Singapore show. Known for her vocal range, emotional delivery, and commanding stage presence, Wendy will perform live alongside the orchestra, giving fans a rare opportunity to hear K-pop vocals seamlessly integrated into a grandiose orchestral setting.

The performance will be brought to life by the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra under the direction of conductor Thanapol Setabrahmana. Having launched in Seoul in 2025 as part of a global touring initiative, SM Classics Live is set to continue across major cities worldwide, with Singapore serving as a key stop in its 2026 run.
