Where streaming meets AI: platforms embracing the future of music

Since the dawn of AI, it has forged an increasingly competitive environment. The desparation to stay relevant and get ahead of its expanding capabilities has grown exponentially in recent recent years. The integration of AI has become an incredibly prominent point on the radars of many organisations. While we zoom into the applications of AI in the music scene, we focus on where major music streaming platforms stand in the chaotic rat race to stay afloat in this explosive tsunami of AI tools popping up everywhere. Here are a few ways that music streaming platforms that you may use integrate or adapt to AI in their interfaces.

Spotify:

With the rise of AI, it comes as no surprise that your listening patterns and trends are analysed by specific programmes to give you a personalised listening experience with all of your current favourites. Spotify’s daylist feature can be found under the “Uniquely Yours”. With the help of AI and machine learning software, Spotify generates these playlists by compiling some of your hits on repeat that match the theme of the goofy headlines like “downtown vibes alternative Wednesday morning”.

Not only does Spotify create random daily mixes, it also offers the ability to create AI Playlists that will be able to compile songs at the click of a button. Simply type in a general vibe for the songs to be featured, such as “Can you put together an exhilarating playlist of songs perfect to run around a field in?”, click enter and Spotify gives you a list of songs to play while you set off on your whimsical frolicking journey in a meadow. While currently being a beta feature, in just a matter of time AI playlists will be a choice of convenience to create tailored playlists for events like birthday parties, weddings and more. Gone are the days of manually curating awesome playlists song by song.

Amazon Music:

Just in early 2025, Amazon announced a tie-up with the AI music creation app Suno that allowed Alexa+ users to be able to create an entire banger hit with a single prompt. All it takes is “Alexa, create a song about a majestic waterfall cascading into an awesome lake” and you’ve got a new hit that’s complete with lyrics, melody and beats.

Amazon Music is also integrating the AI assistant into their main app interface. Questions like “What was the name of that song?” and “I forgot how that song goes?” are things of the past as Alexa+ has the ability to find songs that you can’t quite remember. Just by clicking the Alexa+ icon in the app and sharing insights into chart performance, festival line-ups, and the stories behind song lyrics, Alexa+ identifies exactly the song you’re talking about. You can also use the AI assistant to generate a line-up of songs based on a specific genre or style you’re looking to listen to.

Apple Music:

Ever looking to replicate the seamless fade from song to song like DJs create without breaking a sweat? Well, with Apple Music’s AutoMix integration, you can vibe like you’re in a club setting.

AutoMix uses AI and machine learning to analyse the audio features of a track and crafts seamless transitions to fade into the next song on the queue. AutoMix is beyond crossfade; it immerses you into the music, carrying listeners across melodies and beats by studying the patterns and textures of the music to enrich the average listening experience.

Deezer:

In a world being rapidly taken over by AI interpretations, differentiating AI-generated content from human-made content is important in the quest of letting human-made art shine in its own right.

Especially on a platform that features AI-generated music content, it’s definitely important to flag AI-generated content to let music lovers know where the music they love is coming from. In 2025, they announced the launch of their top-of-the-line AI music detection; they’re able to identify and tag AI-generated music. They also revealed that with nearly 18% of all music uploaded on a daily basis being 100% AI-generated, this integration is definitely one that is necessary.

In the effort of preserving the originality and honesty of music creation, Deezer is working toward removing 100% AI-generated tracks from algorithmic and editorial recommendations.

TIDAL:

TIDAL can automatically transcribe your uploaded track’s lyrics, allowing you to share them with listeners and edit them anytime via the web or mobile app. This makes music listening more convinient, not having to utilise a third-party site to have to search for lyrics to follow along. While other streaming services offer this service, they enlist the assistance of other websites such as Genius and more.

SoundCloud:

To keep up with the evolving landscape in today’s music scene, SoundCloud has integrated various AI tools to create inquisitive music creation experiences for artists. However, they make it completely clear that they strive to uphold their identity as an organisation that will always be “Artist-First”.

They partner with over 11 prominent AI-powered organisations to allow artists to “remix, explore, and connect”. Fadr, AIBeatz, Tutti, Tuney and Hook allow users to rework and experiment with their beats to create mashups, even as a beginner. Their partnership with Soundful allows musicians to produce unique, studio-grade tracks. SoundCloud additionally partners with Voice-Swap and Starmony to help artists transform their vocals with the help of generative AI to channel the style of licensed artist voices.

More notable partners include TwoShot, that enables users to create personalised samples through collaborative AI tools, and ACE Studio, that generates vocals and lyrics of professional standards.

With so many existing initiatives in place to make music listening a more pleasurable experience for consumers, while also making it easier for artists to make their music more accessible for fans, we believe that there will be even greater implementations of AI into these streaming platforms as technology develops. However, it's important not to lose sight of the core message of enjoying the experience of creating, and listening to music without stripping down the processes to a series of clicks and routine actions. Check out a few of the platforms we mentioned in this listicle and experience how the AI integrations enrich your listening experience!
