We've already talked about Wisp's highly anticipated show in Manila coming up later month, but the shoegaze sensation will also be bringing her If Not Winter tour to other cities in Southeast Asia in January and February! Beyond Manila, she will also be hitting Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
Fresh off a breakout year that saw her grace the stages of Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Camp Flog Gnaw, Wisp (aka Natalie Lu) continues her meteoric rise from bedroom producer to genre-shifting star. Her signature blend of shoegaze textures, pop sensibility, and hardcore undertones has captivated a generation of dreamers — and this tour promises to bring that energy directly to her fans, aka the Wispers.
Her full-length debut If Not Winter, released last August, cemented her reputation as one of the most exciting voices in modern shoegaze, drawing from the emotional intensity of Whirr, the dreamy nostalgia of Mazzy Star, and the raw honesty of Adrienne Lenker.
“I wanted to challenge myself to break out of the sound that a lot of people are used to hearing me in,” Wisp shares. “Seeing how versatile I could be in my music writing has really helped me be more confident in the artist that I am”.
