Wormrot have premiered their 'Grieve Trilogy' visual and a brand-new single.
On 18 May (Wednesday), the Singaporean grindcore act shared their latest single 'Weeping Willow', alongside their cinematic 'Grieve Trilogy' music video. The new offering features 18-year-old violinist Myra Choo.
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring you an MV trilogy for three songs from our new album HISS - Grieve, Weeping Willow and Voiceless Choir. We pay tribute to '70s Japanese crime movies and Singapore's own TV series TRIPLE 9 and CRIMEWATCH. https://t.co/qyEGRyL06P— Wormrot Official (@Wormrot) May 18, 2022
The 6-minute 'Grieve Trilogy' visual, which includes the tracks 'Grieve', 'Weeping Willow', and 'Voiceless Choir', honours Asian cinema cult classics and Singaporean crime shows.
"Combining three songs to tell a single continuous story, this trilogy portrays the unnamed protagonist's vengeance on the corrupt cops who plotted the murder of her lover," Wormrot guitarist Rasyid shares in a statement. "We pay tribute to '70s Japanese crime movies and two of Singapore's own TV series Triple 9 and Crimewatch which we grew up watching."
