6 December marked a milestone moment for COCONA of XG — and not just because it was their birthday.
In a heartfelt message shared via Instagram, the XG rapper revealed that they identify as AFAB (Assigned Female At Birth) transmasculine non-binary, and shared that they underwent top surgery earlier this year.
“I was assigned female at birth, but I don’t see myself as a woman,” COCONA wrote. “I feel a strong discomfort being seen as "female", and I live my life feeling more aligned with a masculine identity.”

They described the process of self-acceptance as “the hardest thing” they’ve ever faced — but also one that’s opened new doors for emotional growth and courage. “Now, I can finally feel that what’s inside me isn’t something to be ashamed of,” they said.
COCONA expressed deep gratitude to their fellow XG members, executive producer JAKOPS (SIMON), and their parents for their unwavering support. They closed the message with a wish to “gently light a spark in someone’s heart,” signing off with: “May my love reach everyone who needs it. With love, always. 🤍”
Shortly after, XGALX CEO and XG executive producer SIMON shared a personal tribute on Instagram, saying he was “filled with deep emotion and immense respect” for COCONA’s bravery.

“What I want to share with the world most of all is the pure and genuine hearts of our members,” he added. “That true energy, love, and personal growth are the very core of XG and XGALX.”
COCONA’s post arrives as the members of XG officially come of age — a poignant parallel that highlights not only their growth as artists but as individuals navigating life in the spotlight with authenticity and strength.
