YOUNHA reimagines beloved classic hits, infusing her own sonic sensibilities into each track featured on the remake EP SUB CHARACTER.

The four track album features YOUNHA's covers of tracks such as Miiro's 'Seasonal Crime 계절범죄', wizu's 'Sub Character', Dareharu's 'Karma 염라' and finally KARDI's 'Skybound'. As the album opens with 'Seasonal Crime 계절범죄', it begins the beautiful narrative that the EP carries with its deep message of cherishing every moment of life as it can pass by in a moment. The track flows seamlessly into the next with 'Sub Character' stands unapologetically on the line that divides jealousy and admiration as the desperation to claim the title of "main character" burns bright when watching someone truly in the spotlight.

Following that pair of songs comes the title track 'Karma 염라'. The track explores the fears of being forgotten and the cycle of karma, with its Korean name referencing King Yama, the ruler of the Underworld. The album comes to a close with the cathartic journey of carrying yourself with unapologetic authenticity, not hindered by other's perception of your unique identity.

Ahead of the release of the album two cinematic music videos for the tracks 'Seasonal Crime 계절범죄' and 'Sub Character'. Following the album's release, YOUNHA has dropped the music video for the title track 'Karma'. The three videos capture YOUNHA in 3 separate circumstances as each track surrounds a different theme. The cinematic visuals bring the story to life as they change to fit the message of each song. Each music video continues the story visually in the next creating a cohesive narrative behind the visuals.

In the music video 'Seasonal Crime 계절범죄', YOUNHA tends to her beautiful bonsai singing to it as it symbolises how music heals her just as she uses it to heal the plant. Although hesitant, she takes a step to go outside and embrace the life that lies outside her door, even if it's just a stroll down the street to school.

With 'Sub Character', the tone shifts toward a more upbeat sound. The music video sees YOUNHA perform the track in a classroom setting with the band. She breaks into song after catching her classmates making copies of comics scattered all across the floor, sworn to secrecy to never tell anyone what she saw them doing.

Finally with the music video for the title track 'Karma', those same friends she caught previously have fun as they decorate their lockers before YOUNHA performs the track in a beautifully decorated room covered in crimson wallpaper, capturing the seething uncertainty, hoping to never be forgotten or left behind.

YOUNHA shares her excitement for this latest era as she shares, "I’m very excited to introduce amazing songs, and I believe you’ll enjoy the album more if you compare similar yet different charms from the original songs while listening to it. There are many talented musicians with transparent sensibilities, so I hope musicians who are truly passionate for music, including myself, will expand their stages even further. SUB CHARACTER is a story about us who are looking for meaning within the most ordinary days, across languages and borders."

With SUB CHARACTER, YOUNHA not only reinterprets beloved classics but also weaves a deeply personal narrative that transcends language and borders. Through the EP and its cinematic music videos, she invites listeners to reflect on fleeting moments, embrace their own authenticity, and find meaning in everyday life. This latest era highlights YOUNHA’s artistry and emotional depth offering fans an experience that is as visually captivating as it is musically resonant.
