2018 saw an abundance of fantastic live music in Singapore and 2019 is shaping to be a worthy follow-up, with huge shows announced all the way till September. January looks to kick things off with style as the likes of Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, Superorganism, BTS and more perform in the Lion City. 

Below, we list the best concerts to attend in Singapore in January 2019.


KYLE

When: 4 January
Where: Esplanade Annexe Studio

BANDWAGON TV

Chart-topping rapper Kyle will bless Singapore with a performance as part of his first-ever world tour in January 2019. Kyle was especially active throughout 2018. He followed through on the hype of his Internet-resounding 2016 single 'iSPY' with a string of high-profile collaborations that culminated in the May 2018 release of his brilliant debut album Light of Mine.

SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS

When: 8 January
Where: The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore

Grammy-winning guitar god, born Saul Hudson, but known across generations and immortalised in the annals of rock music, as Slash, will bless Singapore in the flesh in January 2019. He will play an exclusive, one-night-only show here with his legendary band Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. Expect hard riffs, slick guitar licks and the best of rock 'n' roll.

SUPERORGANISM

When: 11 January
Where: The Pavillion@Far East Square

It’s about to get epically quirky – Superorganism is coming to town. Since forming in early 2017, Superorganism has quickly built a strong and loyal fan base, thanks to its indie-pop prowess and the band looks to prove to fans in Singapore why they're rapidly becoming one of the biggest bands in the world. Get ready of an uncompromisingly next-level dose of spectrum-blasting pop. 

Superorganism will perform in Singapore on Friday, January 11 2019 at The Pavilion. Tickets, $65 (early bird) and $75 (general admission) are available here.


ELEPHANT GYM

When: 18 January
Where: Decline

Taiwanese math track trio, Elephant Gym, has amassed a following rapidly since its inception in 2012 with its unique contemporary sound. The highly beloved trio is currently touring to promote its sophomore album, Underwater, a jazz-and-funk inflected project that will be sure to make the night one to remember.

Catch Elephant Gym live in Singapore on Friday, 18 January 2019, at Decline, from 7.30PM onwards. Local instrumental band hauste will open the show. Tickets, $50, are available here.


BTS

When: 19 January
Where: National Stadium

K-pop mega-group BTS is set to return to Singapore in January 2019. The show will be the group's grandest as it performs at the National Stadium. Emerging as the second most streamed group on Spotify and clinching the mantle of Time magazine’s reader-anointed Person of the Year, the septet will go into 2019 as a legitimately world-moving/running force. That’s why this show will be characteristically epic.

BTS is set to perform at the National Stadium, Singapore, on 19 January 2019. Tickets are sold out. 


TAKING BACK SUNDAY

When: 19 January
Where: The Pavillion @ Far East Square

Emo-turned-heartland-rock outfit Taking Back Sunday will be returning to our shores early next year. Catch Adam Lazzara and co. unspool genre-defining, staple-ready songs from its diverse catalog – feel the anthem swell of  ‘Cute Without the E’ and ‘Tidal Wave’. And there will be mic stunts, of course.

Taking Back Sunday is set to perform at The Pavillion @ Far East Square in Singapore on Saturday, 19 January 2019 from 8pm onwards. Tickets are available via SISTIC


SEAN KINGSTON

When: 26 January
Where: Bang Bang

The American reggae fusion and hip-hop artist, who is behind some of the biggest chart-topping hits of our times such as 'Beautiful Girls' and 'Fire Burning', both of which are still played in dance clubs everywhere, is still at it. This year, he released several EPs, collaborating with artists such as Cher Llyod, Fabolous, and Dave Audé.
