Yung Raja has been announced as the REP for ComplexCon Asia’s SHOW UP 001, the first edition of the new live music platform celebrating homegrown communities and cultures across Asia. The event will take place on 8 October at Capitol Theatre in Singapore.

As the inaugural REP, the Singaporean rapper and songwriter has curated a lineup bringing together different generations of the city’s hip-hop scene alongside artists from across the region.

“I’ve been working relentlessly over the last decade to put Singapore on the map,” shared Yung Raja. “It means a lot to be given the opportunity by ComplexCon Asia to represent the country at large.”

Joining Yung Raja on the Singapore front are Akeem Jahat, Mary Sue, and BDK NIP, bringing together established and emerging voices in local rap.

The programme will also extend beyond the mic. DJ KoFlow will bring his turntable wizardry to the decks, while LI.A will shift the focus to Singapore’s dance community with a cypher featuring poppers, lockers, and freestyle dancers. DJ Zai and street-dance studio AK.Kreates are also part of the lineup.

SHOW UP 001 will welcome a slate of regional names as well, including Chinese-American rapper Bohan Phoenix and Indonesian rapper Ramengvrl. Japan’s DJ Koco, aka SHIMOKITA, and Yeti Out co-founder Tom Yeti will also take over the decks, bringing sounds spanning hip-hop, funk, soul, disco, jazz, and more to the night.

For Yung Raja, the event is ultimately about creating space for the communities that have built Singapore’s hip-hop culture.

“Singapore has so much talent, but sometimes you need someone to open the door and give you the stage. SHOW UP is our way of doing that,” he said. “It’s about putting artists in a room, giving them a real platform, and letting them in the most literal terms show up for themselves, their community and what they believe in.”

SHOW UP is a new live music platform by ComplexCon Asia that aims to connect artists, cities, and audiences around the region, building towards ComplexCon Hong Kong in 2027. Each edition will be developed alongside a local REP, who will curate a lineup representing their city and its wider regional community.
