Zig Zach breaks down the vibes for his Ombak set, the power of manifestation & his favourite Desaru dishes

If you could sample one sea creature sound for your set, what would it be? And could you demonstrate it for us?

I think I'd be a crab. I'd sample the crab sound, then I can just like (snaps his fingers) so it sounds like a clap. (Laughs)

If your Ombak set were a beach accessory, what would it be and why?

I'd probably be a beach towel because it'd be multipurpose. You can use it for a lot of things, you know, on the sand, you can use it to dry yourself, you can take shade, you know, multipurpose. Yeah, yeah. (Laughs) Versatility is key.

Desaru Coast has some amazing food — what’s one local dish you want to have while you’re here?

Last time I was here, we found this really nice Chinese restaurant, actually. It was really amazing, we had a lot of seafood. We had, like, prawns, crab, fish, and everything was super fresh. So if you manage to come to Desaru, I'd say definitely try the seafood here.

Who's someone in the Ombak lineup you're genuinely excited to catch live? 

110%, I would say, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. They're like the OGs of funk and soul. Funny story, actually — a friend of mine in New York went to see them, and he sent me a video and I was like, oh my god. I wanna see them. I mean, I haven't seen them before. And then I got invited to play at the festival, so manifestation. (Laughs)

If your set was a Desaru Resort experience — spa, surf, or pool party — which would it be and why? 

For this one, I would say a spa because, actually, I'm playing the lunch party on sunday, and I wanna play, like, really nice down tempo, chill, really kinda enjoy the view, the vibe, you know, really set the tone for the lunch.
