Ziv & VVINK turn third-wheel woes into a pop bop on ‘Trisikulo’ — listen

Ziv and VVINK have a song for anyone who’s found themselves tagging along on someone else’s date.

The producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has teamed up with the P-pop girl group for 'Trisikulo', a playful take on watching the people around you find romance while wondering: “Kailan naman ako?”

Out now via Sony Music Entertainment, the single draws on Filipino wordplay connecting a tricycle’s three wheels to the experience of being the extra person in a couple’s company. For Ziv, whose third-wheel status has become a running joke among friends and family, the premise hits close to home.

“I wanted to write about something that genuinely reflects where I am in life right now,” he shares. “It's funny because it's genuinely what's happening in my life, but at the same time, I realized there aren't that many songs that talk about the experience of being a third wheel.”

Rather than dwell on loneliness, 'Trisikulo' approaches the situation with humour, pairing its longing for companionship with buoyant melodies. Drawing on J-pop, J-rock, K-pop, and OPM influences, the track follows Ziv’s earlier singles 'Kuryente' and 'Walkie Talkie'.

Ziv produced the song and co-wrote it with Paolo Benjamin Guico of Ben&Ben and Angelika Samantha Ortiz, one of the songwriters behind BINI’s 'Pantropiko'. Jacques Jenkins handled mixing, with mastering by Luna Tebbs.

For VVINK, the collaboration came together easily despite bringing different personalities and perspectives into the studio.

“One thing that surprised us was how quickly we clicked. We became comfortable working with each other almost immediately, and everything flowed so smoothly that the creative process felt almost effortless,” the group shares.

The release adds to a busy year for VVINK, whose 'Baduy', featuring DJ Love and Pio Balbuena, won Best Novelty Recording at the 39th Awit Awards and Pop Song of the Year at the 2026 Filipino Music Awards. The group are also part of Spotify RADAR 2026.
