Biography

Formed in 1964, Kool & the Gang has, over the course of their 50 year career, sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and earned two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, nine Top Ten Pop hits and 31 gold and platinum albums. The veteran band was also awarded the prestigious Music Lifetime Achievement Award and recently received two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and New Jersey Walk of Fame respectively. Known for their unique sound which blends jazz, soul and funk, Kool & the Gang has been part of the lives of many generations and remains widely popular. Till today, 'Celebration', the immortal party anthem, remains de rigueur at joyous occasions worldwide. 'Jungle Boogie', 'Summer Madness', 'Ladies Night', 'Get Down On It', 'Cherish' and 'Fresh' further solidified the group's international stardom.
