Mohamed Raffee has 35 years of experience in the music industry in Singapore, Malaysia and India. His repertoire spans Indian ghazals and semi-classical music to Western classical, jazz, pop, rock and blues. He is a multi-instrumentalist, well versed in instruments ranging from Western and traditional Indian stringed instruments to keyboards and percussion. He rearranged and produced one of Singapore’s Tamil national songs, Munneru Vaaliba , for National Day celebrations in 1998. He has also scored for theatre productions, including The Coffin is Too Big for the Hole by Singapore theatre group Agnikoothu, and films such as locally produced Gurushetram – 24 Hours of Anger (2010) and Kollywood hit director Ravikumar’s Jaggubhai (2010). Mohamed Raffee has also worked closely with acclaimed Indian film music director A R Rahman from 1995 to 2007 and other film music directors as arranger, keyboard programmer and instrumentalist. With his band The Vasantham Boys, Raffee has released four albums of his original music. He also performs frequently with his band.
