2016 Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award Winner’s Recital

Mathea Goh Xinyi, violinist, is the youngest winner of the $7000 Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award. Established in 2011, the Award honors the memory of pioneer Singapore violin pedagogue and conductor, Goh Soon Tioe. Former winners are Dawn Yah, violinist, Julian Li, double bassist, Alan Choo, violinist, and Theophilus Tan, cellist.

Mathea has won prizes at the National Piano and Violin competition in Singapore and Symphony 92.4FM Young Talents Project and the Singapore Performers’ Festival. She will be playing works by Grieg, Bach, Ysaye, Paganini and Ravel.
