A SIDE B SIDE DEDICATES AN AFTERNOON TO THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS VINYL
In this digital age, music collective #vinyloftheday breaks from the mould with a vinyl-only party, making grooves on wax the order of the day. Come Saturday, 17th October, Kilo Lounge plays host to the very first installation of A SIDE B SIDE – an afternoon session celebrating analogue tunes and all things vinyl.
A SIDE B SIDE is a tribute to the medium of music that is an entire lifestyle in itself – from the endless hunt for that elusive B-side to soaking in pure unadulterated sound when the needle drops. It is a gathering for record lovers and the uninitiated to experience vinyl culture and to touch, hold and hear music in its most authentic form. Go on an aural journey courtesy of our home-grown DJs, who will be spinning new and familiar tracks spanning decades and genres.
Take in the vinyl life with short documentary screenings of 1000 Yen Beats Vinyl Attack! (2011) and Factory: Manchester from Joy Division to Happy Mondays (2007) for a glimpse into what records really mean to the people who live and breathe them.
Uncover new sounds and reacquaint with old ones in our vinyl swop session. Bring your records for a trade, share the love and bring home something to remember. Crate diggers will have troves of over 300 records to go through and specially curated releases from local record stores and partners will be on sale.
To top it off, Kilo will be serving up drink and food combos to ease you into the evening. Join us at A SIDE B SIDE for a little slice of the vinyl life. We promise great conversation, good beer and a steady flow of nonstop beats at your favourite revolutions per minute. Immersed in old school vinyl culture, we welcome newbies and vinylheads alike.
