AIR live in Singapore

Secret Sounds Asia is delighted to present French electronic duo AIR – Live in Singapore on 27 May 2017 at the Esplanade Theatre.

Hailing from Versailles, France, AIR may have been outliers in the late-'90s electronica boom, but they became one of the most influential electronic acts of the 2000’s and beyond. Consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, AIR rose to prominence with their sensual, atmospheric sound, inspired by Burt Bacharach, Kraftwerk and Brian Wilson, as well as a heady mix of disco, synthesizer maestros, new wave and obscure film soundtracks.

Highlights from AIR’s illustrious discography include the critically acclaimed 1998 debut ‘Moon Safari’, featuring singles ‘Sexy Boy’ and ‘Kelly Watch the Stars’. In early 2000 AIR provided the dreamy soundtrack to Sofia Coppola’s cult film ‘The Virgin Suicides’, teaming up with Gordon Tracks (Phoenix’s Thomas Mars) for the seductive lead track ‘Playground Love’. 2004’s ‘Talkie-Walkie’ featuring the sublime ‘Cherry Blossom Girl’ was similarly released to glowing reviews. In 2012, the duo crafted an original score for the 1902 classic silent film ‘Le Voyage Dans la Lune’, working with collaborators such as Au Revoir Simone and Beach House's Victoria LeGrand. AIR returned in 2016 with the career-spanning ‘Twentyears’, an anthology of their most beloved tracks and rarities throughout the two decades of AIR.

Join us for a very special night of pure enchantment with AIR in their debut live performance in Singapore.
