HI EVERYONE, IT'S AYA!
AYA FEST (AF) is a 2-day festival organised by me, a Singapore based Japanese jazz pianist, also I direct my little company Bon Goût Music (BGM), through which I offer music venue/event/tour programming and consultations, as well as the curation of acts to stir things up in Singapore. I consider myself as an activist for creative environment.
This is a celebration of my venture of connecting Singapore and Japan’s independent music scenes, with the aim of developing larger and stronger community across the border, which I believe can make things more interesting, and create opportunities for both parties.
BACKGROUND STORY

This summer I have completed an inarugural Japan tours of very unique & thriving indie alternative rock bands of Singapore, Wicked Aura and sub:shaman, concurring 4 cities, 2 festivals and many dramatically inspiring encounters. I'm still pumped from the tour, and feel the urgency to share the excitement and energy with the ‘homies’ in Singapore with this upcoming festival.
I have a bigger plan next year and on, but before that, I really wanted to do this so the SIngapore side can experience a bit of Japan and feel the excitement of live house gigs. EVERYONE needs to experience it. I really live for these shows, guys.
Electric Eel Shock and MUSIC FROM THE MARS are one of the most rockin' band I know since my NYC days, and they never ever let me down. You can ask Wicked Aura boys, as they were the supporting act, and they blew all of us away.
I also love both countries music scenes very much, and really think I would like to mix it all up and see what will really come out of it. I think I make a pretty good linkage don't you think? I need to work on both sides for this vision of mine.
WHAT EXACTLY IS 'AF'?

The main showcase 'AYA FEST' (19th) will feature performances 2 of Singapore’s own Wicked Aura and sub:shaman, together with 23-year old garage metal sensation Electric Eel Shock (EES) from who has toured the world and over, and MUSIC FROM THE MARS (MFTM), a whimsical pop sextet who has recently celebrated their 20th with a sold out anniversary gig. Both of these guys are source of inspiration for me for years, and to many bands being the mainstay of the Japanese indie scene.
THIS TIME, I WILL ALSO PERFORM.

I admit I've been busy managing everything on earth, but since I'm calling it 'Aya Fest' I would like to play a bit. For this segment my favorite rhythm section outside of jazz - Timothy De Cotta & Teo Jia Rong whom are the original members of L.A.B (Listen And Believe) which I have also programmed Japan tour and travelled with back in 2015. In this tour, MFTM has helped me book L.A.B, and introduced another great band Singapore is now familiar with, ZA FEEDO / ザ・フィード who will be touring with our friend The Steve McQueens!
Unfortunately I will miss my partner in L.A.B Michaela Therese de Cruz who is the lead vocalist to make this fully into an official reunion! Nevertheless I would like to take this opportunity to play with Tim & JR, because it's been a while.

If you want to experience the high-energy metal ride (infused with Osaka sense of humour), respond to the open call today, and EES guys will pick one finalist to play one of their songs "My Favorite Number 9" or "Metal Man". 【アヤフェス：イベント概要】
AYA FEST (“アヤフェス”以下AF）はシンガポールを拠点に活動するジャズ・ピアニスト関根綾（セキネアヤ）が主催する２日間の日星それぞれのオリジナル音楽をフィーチャーしたライブミュージックイベント。
今回のイベントは即興音楽イベントやコミュニティージャズフェスの企画などで知られる彼女の知る人ぞ知るオルタナティブ／アンダーグラウンド音楽に対する情熱や思い入れに焦点をあてたもの。ニューヨーク、日本そしてシンガポールの音楽シーンをアーティストとしての観点のみならずオーディエンスの立場からも見つめ続けてきた関根ならではの肉厚なプログラムには日星より選りすぐりの5組のグループが出演ほか、ヘッドライナーである日本よりのゲストバンドと共演したいシンガポールのギタリスト達が対象の一般募集も開始され、とにかく見どころ満載の熱い時間が期待される。
日本からはインディシーン（’independent scene’の略) 重鎮２バンド: 98年の海外進出以来、北米やヨーロッパをはじめとする30ヵ国で1000回以上のライブをこなしてきたガレージ・メタルトリオ Electric Eel Shock（エレクトリックイールショック）、そしてsuchmos、Yasei Collective、CRCK / LCKSなど新世代ロック・ジャズミュージシャンがこぞってファイバリットバンドとして名前を挙げる東京アンダーグランドの実力派異能集団・MUSIC FROM THE MARS（ミュージックフロムザマーズ）が初来星。
一方シンガポールからは今までに数多くのアーティストをシンガポールと日本の間で紹介し続けてきた彼女が、この夏ボングウミュージック（彼女の運営するシンガポールを拠点にするイベント／ツアー製作会社）名義で日本ツアーを製作／運営した2組：東京FMの出演が話題となったオルタナティブロックバンド sub:shaman（サブシャーマン）、サマーソニック２０１７出演が「異例の反響」を呼び、日本音楽業界のインフルエンサー達にこぞって絶賛された １３人編成のミクスチャーロックバンドWicked Aura (ウィケッドオーラ）そして今やシンガポールインディー界のカリスマ的存在であるソウル／ヒップホップ ベーシスト&ボーカリスト、Tim De Cotta（ティム・デ・コタ）他様々なゲストが出演する。
