Wu Bai is one of the majors if not the biggest Rock Star in the Mandarin Music territory, which includes Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. He also performed in Japan, South Korea, USA, Canada and Australia . Throughout the years, he held numerous sold out concerts in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, and the "House of Blues" in USA. His albums won many awards and also top the sales charts. He writes his own songs for his album and also writes songs for many popular artists, including Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Faye Wang, Karen Mok, Vivian Hsu, Alan Tam, Nicolas Tse and Jolin Tsai.
Wu Bai & China Blue was formed in 1992 with Wu Bai being the lead Guitar and Vocal, Dean "Dino" Zavolta on drums, Yu Jie-Yung (余紀墉, aka "Big Cat") on keyboards, Chu Chien-hui (朱劍輝) on bass. Wu Bai's guitar-driven rock music differs from many mandopop and Cantopop stars thus begins the true Taiwanese band sound scene. His music and image also leads the Taiwanese taike (台客) trend.
