DEBRA KHNG “WOLVES IN THE NIGHT” DEBUT EP LAUNCH

During a gap year in 2010, armed with a voice recorder and a notebook, Debra Khng wrote her first song “Strangers” on bus rides from Labrador Park, and debuted it at OOOM@SAM where she was a finalist. Subsequently, she began writing and singing at cafes and open-mic sessions. She has since performed at Artistry, MAAD, Hood Bar, Tab, and the Esplanade Concourse. After a 4-year incubation period, her debut EP “Wolves In The Night” - a 5-track chronicle of love, loss, and youth - finally arrives. Influenced by mainly 70’s and 80’s pop and soft rock, her songs are distinctly melody-centric with lashings of old school nuances, and soaring crystalline vocals. Featuring up and coming alternative rock singer-songwriter Wei Chiang and his band, as well as indie-folk darling Vanessa Faith, listeners are in for a night of soul-ensnaring music straddling both radio-friendly revelry and melancholic catharsis. Entry is free, and physical copies of Debra’s debut EP, ‘Wolves In The Night’ will be available, 6th December, 8pm, Hood Bar.
