This is the idea central to the music of bittymacbeth, whose real name is Beth Yap. Her first single, Haters Gon' Hate, produced together with Soulfest alumnus Dru Chen, reached #4 in the local Apple Music Top R&B/Soul songs chart and #6 in the iTunes Top R&B/Soul songs chart. Her follow-up to the aggressive anthem is Californian Dream, a chill funk-pop track also produced together with Dru. These two singles are from her forthcoming debut solo album, Beauty for Ashes, which centres on the ups (beauty) and downs (ashes) in life.
