Esplanade Presents: Red Dot August - Nick Zavior

From crooning in the classroom to performing alongside 16-time Grammy Award winner David Foster, Nick Zavior is Singapore’s newest vocal phenomenon. Graduating in 2016 from LASALLE College of the Arts, Zavior excelled and won the prestigious McNally Award for Excellence in the Arts.

Zavior has been the highlight act at notable events in Singapore such as Esplanade’s countdown parties in 2016 and 2017, and the Norwegian Embassy’s Norway Night, to name a few. His rendition of The Long & Winding Road was featured on Jeremy Monteiro’s album With A Little Help From My Friends, a tribute album to The Beatles. The album topped the iTunes jazz charts in Singapore within its first week of its release. Zavior was also the opening act for two-time Grammy Award winner Gregory Porter at The Capitol Theatre.

The highlight of Zavior’s career came in 2017 when he was handpicked by legendary producer David Foster to feature in his concert tour David Foster & Friends at SingJazz Festival 2017. Alongside A-listers Chaka Khan and Brian McKnight, Zavior gave a captivating and flawless performance of The Last Time by Eric Benet to an audience of over 4,000. As described by The Straits Times, Zavior “made Singapore proud.”

In May 2018, Zavior was featured as a special guest singer at the Duke Ellington Orchestra’s concert at the Singapore International Festival of the Arts, where he sang two of Ellington’s classics, I Got It Bad and I’m Just A Lucky So & So.

He is currently working on his first solo EP, having spent March 2018 recording at the world- renowned The Village Studios in Los Angeles, CA, where internationally acclaimed artists such as John Mayer, Janet Jackson, Usher, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Snoop Dogg have recorded their albums.
