Julien Brochard
Introducing Julien Brochard, The Council’s resident Frenchman sans the stereotype. His love for music started since young, and has come a long way for someone his age. His teenage years were spent strapped around a guitar with rock & roll rhythms rolling off his fingertips. It wasn’t long before he was introduced to the world of electronic music—noting the likes of Gui Boratto, Kink, DJ Tennis, Satori and Ame as his inspiration—and hasn’t looked back since.

Taking a break to study, he arrived in Paris in 2012, where his passion really took root behind the turntables. It was then when he met a group of like-minded tastemakers whom he now considers his closest friends. Together, they immersed themselves in the renewal of the underground electronic scene in Paris and all across Europe.

Determined to take his craft to the next level, Julien got involved behind-the-scenes with various Parisian festivals including the Weather Festival and the French Techno Parade. Three years later and ever so hungry, Julien has pinned the likes of Berlin, Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary and Serbia to his musical roadmap.

Julien finally found his way to our sunny shores in 2015. In the short span of 6 months soaking up the local scene and our many idiosyncrasies, he managed to catch the attention of promoters across the island, putting him behind massive dance floors at experiential dance parties—from rooftops to kitchens and ballrooms to warehouses—organized by Sunshine Nation, Chab Events and The Council. His versatility also allowed him to spread his gospel of all things deep and tropical at intimate venues the likes of kyō, CATO, MeatLiquor, The Powder Room, Koi and Hotel Jen.

With numerous accolades under his name and barely 3 decades old, Julien now calls Singapore home with bright eyes set on the region.
