Mosaic 2014: Leading Lads

Jonathan Meur: 6.15pm Described by Juice Magazine as possessing "a sandpaper and honeyed voice", French-Mauritian singer-songwriter Jonathan Meur performs a fusion of folk, pop, rock and classical music that has drawn comparisons to the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Kings of Convenience and Regina Spektor. These Brittle Bones: 7.15pm Fourteen-year-old singer-songwriter and pianist Chris Jones hails originally from Wales and has since made Singapore his home. Taking up piano at seven, he started writing songs at eight, developing a distinctive sound that saw him being signed by the renowned ATC Management, who manages artists such as Radiohead and Nick Cave. Bhaskar: 8.15pm A veteran performer and songwriter of music styles from bubblegum punk to indie-noise to classic rock and roll, Bhaskar is the founder of Singapore bands Lilac Saints and Steel City Skies best known for the hit Gina in the late '90s. Saiful Idris: 9.15pm Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter of popular Singapore indie dance band Great Spy Experiment, Saiful Idris is recognised as one of the leading lights of the Singapore indie music scene. Besides his well-travelled band, Saiful also creates music as an electronic music DJ and has branched out into music production.
