NUS Jazz Band

Welcome the holiday season with NUS Jazz Band as part of Esplanade’s Celebrate December 2016!

Led by Music Director Brian Hill and Resident Conductor Tan Chin Boo, the group’s young and talented musicians present jazz renditions of popular Christmas songs at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre on 23 December. Featuring performances by its in-house big band, combo bands and vocal ensemble, this evening promises to be a great way to unwind and embrace the festive spirit. 

Set 1: 7:15 – 8pm

Set 2: 8:30 – 9:15pm

Set 3: 9:45 – 10:30pm

Founded in 1994, NUS Jazz Band is proud to be the sole university jazz group that houses its own big band, vocal ensemble and combo bands. Its musical versatility has enabled countless performances across various corporate and social events.

The group continues to grow under the leadership of music director Brian Hill and resident conductor Tan Chin Boo, as well as the meticulous tutelage of distinguished local jazz musicians including Chok Kerong, Andrew Lim and Melissa Tham.
