Description:
Raffles Singers, established in 2001 and directed by award-winning conductor Toh Ban Sheng, is a premier local choir comprising alumni singers from top Singaporean school choirs, accomplished choral conductors, voice teachers, and experienced independent singers.

This year, Raffles Singers is proud to present a choral concert entitled Pacem: Colours of Peace. This concert will be a prelude to the choir's participation in the 11th World Symposium on Choral Music to be held in Barcelona, Spain, in July 2017. At the symposium, Raffles Singers will have the privilege of being the first Singaporean choir in over twenty years to represent the country at this prestigious triennial event.

The concert repertoire features pieces from a broad range of genres. Featuring choral works by acclaimed composers from Singapore and abroad, the evening's repertoire showcases the choir’s versatility as they deliver songs ranging from folk songs, spirituals, to sacred music. In addition, Raffles Chorale, the choir of Raffles Institution (Years 5-6), will be presenting a selection of songs to complement Raffles Singers’ repertoire.

Raffles Singers would like to extend this invitation to you to go on a musical journey with us in our peace-themed concert, and look forward to seeing you there!

*This concert is eligible for the NAC Tote Board Arts Grant subsidy. Students may wish to approach their school choir teacher in-charge to ask about subsidies for purchase of concert tickets under the NAC's Public Arts Programme.
