Samantha began her journey into the world of music when she took part in her first National Chinese Songwriting Competition in 2007. Since then, she has experimented with different styles of music, drawing her inspiration from Jazz, R&B, Pop and landmark artistes such as Alicia Keys, A*mei and Norah Jones. Her bilingualism forms the centre of her musical identity and in her performances; she is always seeking to find a balance between these two diverse forms of melodies. In this showcase, she will be working with veteran music arranger and guitarist Dayvid Foo who has worked with popular regional artistes such as Andy Lau and Twins. Together with Dayvid, Samantha will be joined on stage by widely acclaimed local percussionist, Shawn Kok, who has been recognised for his energetic and highly innovative rhythmic style.
