The SINGJAZZ Club presents CHARLIE LIM

Full of lush delicacy and soulful nuance, the very first note you hear him sing is not just a defining moment – it becomes a self-defying one. Your eyes will not believe your ears, as the voice belongs not to a wizened folk-rocker or a slick soul singer, but to an unassuming young songwriter named Charlie Lim. When playing live, Charlie is at his finest as the captain of his own ship, gently steering his band and audience across a sea of human experience. The journey, guided by Charlie’s velvet croon, explores the gamut from darkness to light, sadness to joy, and like a slow inhale and exhale, is ultimately uplifting. Within the crowd, there is toe tapping, wide-eyed wonder, and an inexplicable desire to share your delight with the listener beside you. Charlie’s debut EP offers a glimpse of his inimitable artistic brooding – songwriting and performance filled with daring intimacy and flirtatious satire. Since its release, his music has garnered fervent support across the region, and has been featured on leading radio stations (PBS 106.7 FM and Triple J in Australia, Capitol FM and BFM 89.9 in Malaysia, 98.7 FM and Lush 99.5 in Singapore, RTHK in Hong Kong) as well as various branded platforms (Fred Perry, Ben Sherman, Singapore Airlines, Leica, Valleyarm).
