The Steve McQueens “Tape” Asia Tour Launch Concert

“If there is one thing you need to know about The Steve McQueens is that they can take your breath away without breaking sweat.”
Ziggy magazine
“If you gravitate toward a mix of electronic and acoustic and you get your kicks from listening to the bold new waves of Hiatus Kaiyote and Snarky Puppy; if you like the virtuosic percussive technique of Chris “Daddy” Dave, your sonic delights topped up with a sprinkle of Fender Rhodes; if you mix your smooth with the jaggedy-edgy, then you will most likely dig The Steve McQueens.”
Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick from Incognito

Tape obfuscates. Tape covers up. It censors and erases. Hide.
Tape repairs. It mends and holds together the broken. Heal.
Tape records. It preserves our deepest darkness for a brighter day. History.

Esplanade Mosaic Associate Artist The Steve McQueens kick off their ‘TAPE’ Asia Tour with their only stop in Singapore at the Esplanade Recital Studio, before bringing their neofuture jazz sound to Japan. On their 4th Asia tour, they present fan favourites and previously unreleased material as they prepare their next album TAPE.

The Steve McQueens formed in Singapore in 2013 as a forging of four mercurial talents—Ginny Bloop (vocals), Joshua Wan (keyboards), Jase Sng (bass), and Aaron James Lee (drums). Critically acclaimed, with the fervent backing of Incognito guitarist and producer Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick, The Steve McQueens leave an indomitable mark on any listener with their jazz-infused neo-soul, a groove-based hybrid of tightly arranged and freely improvised sounds.
