Velvet Soundscape: Creating the sounds of tomorrow
As with the evolving times and constant change in music taste and preferences, Velvet Underground - Dance will see a change in its music direction of its Resident DJ nights in 2015. The focus will be drawn towards a modern take of House, inspired by 90s house music with melodious tunes and sporadic vocals, binding the intimacy of the dance floor and close interaction of DJs. A return to the core of clubbing and appreciation of dance music, Velvet Soundscape will be helmed by veteran Zouk resident Jeremy Boon and the newest edition to the Zouk family - Zushan. Not only defining Zouk’s early sounds, but also pushing the boundaries of House music in its various guises be it Jazz, Afro Beat, Latin, Soul or Funk inspired tunes, Jeremy has grown musically, establishing his residency at Velvet Underground (since 1997) with his signature style of eclectic tunes. Although just a baby in the Zouk family, Zushan is definitely no stranger in the industry. The key to Zushan's flair is his versatility, venturing into different styles of music, from House to Techno, Funk to Disco, Dubstep to Drum & Bass, and having the ability to blend in and perform like he's a master of any style of music.
