WATCH: Disco Hue & Akeem Jahat's polychromatic 'Plastic Hearts' music video explores superficial love

Just last month, we were all pretty excited when Disco Hue collborated with Singaporean hip-hop icon Akeem Jahat for their punchy and sugary new single entitled 'Plastic Hearts'.

Now the synthpop darlings are back with a dreamy, polychromatic music video for their fresh track that pairs their newfound sonic maturity with a more subtle (but still vibrant) aesthetic.

Shifting away from their 80s'-driven style, 'Plastic Hearts' instead ventures into the early-2000s for a bubblegum pop feel in this "stylistic homage to Aqua's 'Barbie Girl'."

Exploring themes of superficiality and materialistic love, this music video by Thievves Productions manages to be thoughtful and vibrant at the same time.

Disco Hue is currently prepping for their first full-length album to be released later this year, so you can expect plenty more from them pretty soon. But in the meantime, enjoy the music video for 'Plastic Hearts' below.
