Anderson .Paak announced as Vans’ first Global Music Ambassador with exclusive Vans collection

Mutual philosophies and beliefs are key to strong partnerships.

Today (9/10), Vans announced that singer-songwriter and producer, Anderson .Paak, will be taking his relationship with the brand to the next level. The Grammy-winning artist has been crowned as Vans’ first Global Music Ambassador, and will be debuting an exclusive footwear and accessories collection.

The news coincides with the release of his latest single, ’JEWELZ’, now out on YouTube with an animated music video directed by himself and Ali Graham

Inspired by .Paak’s Southern Californian roots, and his critically acclaimed albums Venice and Malibu, the design of the collection features new prints on the timeless Old Skool DX and AP Bucket Hat. The shoes will be topped off with a custom tongue label message from Anderson .Paak, green waffle soles, custom packaging, and dust bags to match, while the hats will be adorned with silicon patches and signature quotes affixed to the brim.

As a longtime fan of Vans, Anderson .Paak is thrilled about the partnership, having worked at a Vans store Topanga Canyon, California before. “I’m honored to be the newest member of the Vans Family and look forward to making history with one of the most respected global brands,” said Anderson .Paak. “I’m thankful for Vans’ partnership with .Paak House and can’t wait to broaden our reach to help even more people tap into their greatest potential.”

“We are inspired by AP’s multifaceted creative talent and are excited to continue to partner with him throughout the next year for curated music and art initiatives, product design and enabling creativity within the local community and around the world,” said Tierney Stout, global music marketing lead at Vans. “Anderson epitomizes creative expression and we are thrilled to officially welcome him into the Vans Family.”

Anderson .Paak will be one of five judges determining the winner of this year’s Vans Musicians Wanted, alongside Vans global music marketing lead Tierney Stout, and esteemed artists J.I.D, Bohan Phoenix, and Nilüfer Yanya. The recipient of the Grand Prize will be rewarded with an opportunity to share the stage with Anderson .Paak as the opening act in 2021, customised Fender Gear, Spotify and Apple Music playlisting, and more.

Submissions for Vans Musicians Wanted have closed on 30 September. A virtual concert to be performed by the top 5 finalists will take place on 9 December
