Ayala Museum’s classical concerts kick off this June

Ayala Museum’s classical concerts kick off this June

This upcoming month of June is riddled with gigs and concerts aplenty—we’re expecting the Queen of Pop, Britney Spears herself, and 2 big names in the alternative rock and pop punk scene, The Maine and State Champs, among others.

For the entire month of June, Ayala Museum will be running series of musical concerts. These will feature locally and internationally renowned artists and groups of differing genres on the more classical side of the spectrum: operatic, orchestral, jazz, blues—you name it.

These performances will be both a commemoration of the long-established classical genre and an introduction to the slow, symphonic culture of music for listeners both young and old.

BANDWAGON TV

We’re looking forward to soprano Stephanie Aguilar, tenor Nomher Mival, and pianist Gabriel Allen Ferros Paguirigan as they pay homage to famous opera singer and actor Mario Lanza; international jazz songstress Charito and her crew as she gives new life to classic songs by various composers of old; and the Manila Symphony Orchestra, Kabataang Gitarista, Makiling Singers, and the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra—four highly talented ensembles that will enrich the crowd’s listening experience with full-bodied sound and harmonious blending, which are expected of such groups of their calibre.

Admittedly, Ayala Museum’s June Concerts will stray from the definitive indie bar gigs today’s youth are accustomed to, but the acts that will play are of a totally different albeit still-beautiful genre of sound.
