K-pop’s freest spirits BOYNEXTDOOR made their highly-anticipated debut at Lollapalooza this past weekend, captivating thousands at the Lakeshore stage with a vibrant hour-long set that proved why they’re one of the most exciting new acts to hit the global festival scene.

From the moment that the gates were opened, to when Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak stepped on stage, the crowd's energy was electric. Backed by live band arrangements and armed with undeniable charisma, the six-member group powered through a set that showcased their bold blend of retro funk, melodic hip-hop, and alternative pop.

They opened with their euphoric single 'I Feel Good', instantly pulling fans into their colourful universe. The signature onstage door prop—a playful nod to their “Knock knock, who’s there? BOYNEXTDOOR” intro—set the tone for a performance that felt like an open invitation into their world. Fan-favorite tracks 'Nice Guy' and 'One and Only' followed, turning the stage into a full-blown celebration.

BOYNEXTDOOR seamlessly shifted gears to reveal their romantic side with dreamy cuts like 'So let’s go see the stars' and the nostalgic '123-78', before launching into crowd anthems 'l i f e i s c o o l' and 'Serenade'. A spontaneous singalong of breakout hit 'IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU'—the most-streamed 2025 release by a K-pop boy group in Korea—swept through the audience, marking one of the night’s most unforgettable moments.

The group kicked things back into high gear with a three-song burst: the funk-laced 'Earth, Wind & Fire', high-voltage 'Dangerous', and raw, pop-punk closer 'But Sometimes'. Returning for an encore of 'I Feel Good', BOYNEXTDOOR left the stage to resounding cheers.

Their Lollapalooza debut came fresh off a sold-out headliner at House of Blues Chicago the night before, where the group delivered not one, but two encores to a packed venue of diehard fans.

The performance also marks another milestone following the release of their 4th EP, No Genre—their second consecutive million-seller. As they wrap up their first tour KNOCK ON Vol.1, BOYNEXTDOOR have made one thing clear: they’re not just festival-ready, they’re the future of K-pop’s new wave.
